About Me

I am a mom in STEAM writing for curious kids of all ages! I love getting little humans excited about BIG ideas and believe that children are often far more capable than grown-ups assume. I write to spark curiosity, courage, and joy in readers and love books that trust the remarkable ability of the growing child mind.

 

After beginning my first career in the competitive, male-dominated world of energy trading, I felt compelled to advocate for girls in STEM, business, and other fields with gender gaps. Combining a love of writing with my STEAM background, I create books to inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators!

I hold a B.B.A in Finance and Chinese from the University of Notre Dame (Go Irish!) where I also sang and performed in musicals.  I am #PBchat mentee to Hannah Holt, Grub Street scholarship recipient, and active member of SCBWI and the 12x12 Challenge.  Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, I have also lived many places in the eastern United States and even in China. Today I can be found in North Carolina helping other traders grow their businesses, writing for children, and exploring, singing, and creating with my husband and young children.
